Perm Mayor Eduard Sosnin Congratulates WWII Veteran on His 100th Anniversary

On February 17, WWII veteran Rimma Iosifovna Koza celebrated her 100th birthday.
Perm Mayor Eduard Sosnin congratulated her on the round date and presented her with a jubilee medal in connection with the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory.
– Rimma Iosifovna’s contribution to the city’s healthcare is enormous, and her labor exploits have been recognized with numerous awards. She devoted more than 50 years to saving people’s eyesight at the Perm Regional Clinical Hospital. It is especially valuable that Rimma Iosifovna founded a whole dynasty of doctors who continue her work, – said Eduard Sosnin.
It should be noted that Rimma Iosifovna was born in Stalingrad, where she completed 9 grades of school. During the war, she was evacuated to Novosibirsk, but due to the bombing, she was sent to Perm. Here, Rimma Iosifovna entered the 10th grade and graduated with honors. Afterwards, she entered the medical institute, which she also graduated with honors in 1947. After graduating, she went to work in an eye clinic (now the Perm Regional Clinical Hospital) as an ophthalmologist, and later became the head of the eye department. Rimma Iosifovna's two daughters and two grandchildren followed in her footsteps and are also medical workers; the entire family is a real dynasty of doctors.
